Enjoy the peace and serenity of your own private beach and dock that are shared with next house (owner’s home). Canoe, paddle board or kayak to the island in the middle of the lake. Dine down at the beach or on the spacious deck. The large master bedroom with a live edge desk opens up to its own second floor deck with rocking chairs. Two small bedrooms with oversized twin mattresses’ complete the second floor. The main floor is open style with dining, living and kitchen all connected, all with breathtaking views. The kitchen are full with all the top of line gears that you can host a party here or just cook meals for yourself. Full walk out basement comes with another futon that sleeps two, along with another work desk and treadmill. This idyllic location is being rented for the first time and is a short drive to Northampton, the five colleges or to the Berkshires. Enjoy all the amenities at your own risk. This renovated home comes with a full house generator and is located next to the dam on a paved road for easy access, so it can now be enjoyed all year long..

Résumé: A last-minute cancellation at a different property left us in a pinch for Smith College’s parent’s weekend and we counted our lucky stars to find this well-appointed home. It was exactly what we needed for a three-day parents weekend stay. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, the Host’s thoughtful communications and local recommendations, the beautiful (and easy) 15-20 minute drive to Northampton/Smith, and comfortable beds. Unexpected bonus - the stunning views of sunrise over the lake and stars shining so brightly that we could see their reflection on the water! We had a fun campfire on our last night - another unexpected and fun part of a great weekend. One tip: If you rent this beautiful retreat and plan to arrive at night (which we did), know that it is a little hard to find in the dark. Our host had given us two GPS addresses to use; we found that the second one was easier for nighttime navigation. Once we found the house, we used a “dropped pin” on our Apple Maps to find it again. (It was much easier to find during the day). We hope to return again for future stays - definitely a fun wooded retreat!
