The rolling hills of this Unesco-enshrined region are exceptionally picturesque and its Barolos and Barbarescos, its hazelnuts and truffles, have been world renowned for decades.
Our master bedroom has a super-king bed (for super comfort) with natural linens, a selection of pillows, faux fur throws, warm wooden beams and it's whisper-quiet.
We offer a handy library, magnifying mirror for make-up and other interesting bits and pieces to make your holiday v.comfortable.
The kitchen is open plan, very well equipped and is an easy casual space to holiday cater, with every utensil we personally love including a bar-cart and vintage glasses that really set the tone.
The bathroom is reminiscent of a Turkish Hamman; walk-in style with a tiled bench seat, and waterfall shower.
The wellness room has soft floor matting, yoga equipment, weights and doubles as an office space with desk for those chasing a remote working station.
It's a beautifully decorated gem of an apartment, a place to put up your feet in between wine tastings and meals out to catch up on reading or Netflix.
Groceries and shops are at the bottom of Montegrosso hill to kick-start your larder and a large supermarket 8 minutes away by car as well as fresh food markets every Tuesday in Montegrosso, Wednesday in Asti and Saturday in Alba.
Turin airport is the closest although, depending on when you want to fly, check availability from Genoa and Milan airports too.
The easiest and best way to get around is by car, all major airports and train stations have car rental agencies, it’s essential to book before you arrive.
(be aware there are a couple of tolls on your way in so have a card ready)
It's a good idea to stop for milk, bread and any essentials before you get to the house. They're available at the petrol stations along the way and also at the bottom of Montegrosso Hill (depending on what time you arrive) and recently a dairy vending fridge has been added to the village and is really worth the walk.
Trains run regularly from Milan and Turin to Asti (the closest large town), and there is also a line to Montegrosso.
The train service runs Mon - Sat from Montegrosso to Asti at 29 minutes past the hour from 6am to 8pm (except 10am and 4pm).
Return trains leave Asti at 12 minutes past the hour on the same schedule.
The Montegrosso train station is at the bottom of the hill, adjacent to the large car park on Via XX Settembre (SP3), across from Banca Popolare di Novara.
Please note that there are NO trains on Sundays.

It's a pleasant surprise to find everything so affordable even with our rapidly transforming hospitality scene; restaurant meals, coffee and market foods offered to you with such passion.
We’re still discovering new corners of this area and love the contrast of cities like Turin and Alba with the hilltop villages of La Morra and Costigliole.
Alba is a favourite for lunch after Saturday markets, Michelin Star to casual.
Old fashioned hospitality exists with the appealing snacks provided with your Aperol Spritz or glass of wine any time of the day in these local towns.
Head to Bar Centrale Montegrosso (3 minutes walk) for cappucinos, a casual lunch or dinner or book Ca'del Profeta Wine Resort (3 minute drive) for an unforgettable fine dining experience.
The Designer Outlet shopping malls are only 1 hour's drive in either direction (one in Turin and one in Serravale) and really are worth a visit for fashionistas..... seriously great shopping especially in January and July as the sales kicks in.
